Look Back at Lighting ------ Hanimex Aquarius Range

The Hanimex Aquarius range Consisted of projectors modified by Pluto and sold back to Hanimex. The Pluto range of attachments and effects completed the catalog. The Aquarius range projectors are rare today.

Shown Above are box covers (outer packing) for the Hanimex 100 projector. The one on the left is an early graphic used on the very first units. This was improved on by about 1973 as shown by the graphic on the right Shown below the 100 and 1000 model projectors. There was a catalog, all i have left is the front cover. The wheel image is from a rather unique 6" wheel called "Crystal", seems to have crystals grown on the glass then coloured. This is not a polarising wheel and I have never seen another of these wheels--have you?

The Aquarius range consisted of the 100,1000 and Syllabus projector units. The Syllabus had a 250w QI lamp and took the 'Intachange' motor plates and accessories. For motor plates the Sterling motor was used and also on some of the fixed motor units, although it is evident that Cruzet units were also fitted at some time. The 1000 model projector was also available fitted with a Liquisplode (see Pluto page). Effect wheels available were basically the Pluto range. Check Pluto and Lightomation pages for images.

Autochanger Box Autochanger Atochanger Rear Autochanger Rear
Shown above is the 3 cassette autochanger unit. A small solenoid (operated from a 555 timer) allowed the mechanism to rotate to the next effect. it could be advanced manually from a cable plugged into the small socket to be seen next to the timer knob. Far left is the original box, as I remember little packing was used.
I will add more info to this page as I find it.
